Keystone Contracting was founded in 2019 with a simple but meaningful idea behind its name. In traditional stone arch construction, the keystone is the final piece placed at the top of the arch — the component that locks everything together, distributing weight and giving the entire structure its strength. My background started in finished carpentry, which carried into my company's early years doing trim work, kitchens, and high-end stair and railing systems. I have been a licensed residential builder since 2019, and have been involved in virtually every phase of custom home building at one time or another. This gives us a broad range of expertise as well as an overall understanding of how everything goes together outside of our specific niche. Today we primarily focus on building decks and installing high end railing systems, as well as doing some interior work in the winter months. While the what we do has shifted over time — and may continue to — the why and how never have. We are a family owned company based out of the Traverse City area. We take pride in quality workmanship, and do our best to ensure that our work is top-notch every time.
